For various reasons -- mostly the internal mess of a new startup -- we are deferring the Summit to early 2008. We will have a follow up to this announcement in the near-term with a new date, and more substantive information about the event.
San Francisco is the epicenter of the Web technology world, and what happens here reverberates across the planet.
Epicenter::SF is a new events company whose principals -- Christian Perry and Stowe Boyd -- are rethinking the basic patterns of tech events. More sassy late night TV and less stodgy podium speak, more fun and less tedium, more meat and less filler, more us and less you, more depth and less shallow, more reality and less make believe.
On behalf of Epicenter::SF -- a new company I have founded with Christian Perry -- I am happy to announce the upcoming Social Platform Summit, which will be held in San Francisco on 16 October 2007.
We hope to bring together the entrepreneurs, visionaries, and moguls that are creating a quantum shift in the online user experience. The Social Platform Summit will be the epicenter of the exploding discussion about the role of social networks as a platform for online applications.
Over the next weeks, we will be adding information here about the program, sponsors, and our plans for the one-day event.
